PROFILE OF MR. FRANCIS FORDJOUR

TEACHING & REACHING EXPERIENCE

Francis Fordjour started his basic education at Seikwa Methodist School in the Tain district of the Bono Region of Ghana where he completed his Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in 1990. He entered Bechem Senior Secondary School in the Ahafo Region of Ghana and gained his Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSCE) in 1993. Subsequently, he enrolled at the Presbyterian Training College at Akropong Akuapem in the Eastern Region for his Post Secondary Education and completed with Teacher’s Certificate ‘A’ in June 1998. Francis Fordjour taught as a professional teacher in his alma mater (Seikwa Methodist JSS) from 1998 to 2000 and was transferred to the Nkoranman Senior Secondary School in Seikwa in June 2001 to teach Core Science and Chemistry which he did for one term. He gained admission in September 2001 to pursue BSc Pharmacy at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi (KNUST), Ghana and completed in June 2005. As a pharmacist, Francis worked at the St. Theresa’s Hospital in Nkoranza in the Bono East Region from 2008 to 2014. He then pursed MSc degree in Clinical Pharmacy at KNUST from 2011 to 2015. After the second degree, Francis was transferred from Nkoranza to Sunyani Regional Hospital (Ghana Health Service) as a Clinical Pharmacist where he doubled as an adjunct lecturer to KNUST department of pharmacy practice preceptoring PharmD students and Pharmacy interns posted to the Regional Hospital. While in hospital practice, he pursued a PharmD top up degree for practising pharmacist and completed his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2018. To pursue his passion for teaching, Francis Fordjour moved from hospital practice into academia and currently serves as a lecturer at the Sunyani Technical University in Ghana at the department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. His subject areas are Therapeutics and Hospital Practice.

Francis is now into PhD studies at KNUST, Kumasi, Ghana.

His research areas are treatment outcomes, medication use in pregnancy and cardiovascular disorders
