The Department of General Agriculture at Sunyani Technical University (STU) has been honoured as the Best Tertiary Institution in Agriculture at the Sunyani East Municipal celebration of the 41st National Farmers’ Day, held in Abesim.
The prestigious recognition highlights the Department’s outstanding contribution to agricultural education, practical training, and community support initiatives. The award package included farm implements to support hands-on learning and enhance the University’s practical training facilities, together with a Certificate of Honour.
Receiving the award on behalf of the University, Prof. Noble Sarkodie, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Science and Technology, expressed appreciation to the Municipal authorities for acknowledging the University’s commitment to agricultural innovation and skills development. Staff of the Department of General Agriculture joined him to receive the honour.
This achievement reinforces STU’s strong focus on practical-oriented training and its continuous efforts to equip students with industry-ready skills that support Ghana’s agricultural transformation agenda.
