We write to inform the University community, especially fresh students that due to circumstances beyond the control of the Administration, the matriculation ceremony for fresh students scheduled on Friday, October 18, 2019 has been postponed until further notice.

ORIENTATION FOR FRESH STUDENTS

We write to inform the University community, especially fresh students that there will be orientation for all fresh students.

The programme is as follows:

Date: Wed-Fri, October 9-11, 2019
Venue: University Auditorium
Time: Wed & Thur at 2:00pm, Fri at 10:00am

By a copy of this memorandum, all Deans, HODs and other Unit/Sectional Heads are kindly rquested to be present on Friday, October 11, 2019 to grace the occasion. All teaching staff are to release students during this period for successful orientation.

SECOND SEMESETR RESIT

Due to circumstances beyond control, the Executive Committee of the university has postponed the Rgular Resit Exams from Monday 9th September to Monday 16th September 2019. However, the Weekend schedule remain unchanged.

Please, the inconveniences caused by this changes is regreted.

APPOINTMENT OF PRO VICE-CHANCELLOR

The office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor became vacant on September 1, 2019. Schedule J of the Statutes of the Sunyani Technical University outlines the appointment of Pro Vice-Chancellor as follows:

  1. The appointment of a Pro Vice-Chancellor shall be advertised within the University.
  2. The applicant shall be a teaching staff and shall be of Professorial status who can provide academic leadership and be abreast with policies and good practices in a tertiary institution.
  3. The University Appointment and Promotions Board (UAPB) shall evaluate the CVs and Vision Statement(s) and interview the nominee(s) and shall submit a report to Council with recommendations for the appointment of the Pro Vice-Chancellor
  4. Where a suitable member of professorial status cannot be found in the University, a suitable senior academic member of Senior Lecturer with PhD may be appointed at act as Pro Vice-Chancellor. He/She shall hold office for one (1) year and shall be eligible for re-appointment for another year provided the tenure of office shall not exceed three (3) years.

Consequently, qualified members of staff who wish to be appointed as Pro Vice-Chancellor are requested to apply to the Chairman, Appointment and Promotion Board (Vice-Chancellor) not later than Monday, September 30, 2019.

This memorandum supersedes the earlier one date August 26, 2019.
